Carboreal is a leading implementer of natural climate actions in the Nordics and is on its way to becoming a global pioneer in its field. As part of this journey, the company's board has decided on the following changes as of today:
CEO/COO Leadership Duo
The board has appointed Salomo Vilén as CEO, alongside Taavi Havren, MBA, from Estonia, as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Deputy CEO. Vilén is one of the co-founders of Carboreal, a long-time entrepreneur with extensive experience in the forestry sector, while Havren is a top IT professional with international experience in project and program management, from both small and large companies. The current CEO, Janne Saarikko, will transition to a full-time role as Chairman of the Board and will continue operational work by focusing on key projects within Carboreal. All three are also significant shareholders in the company.
Executive Management Team
The executive management team, along with the CEO and COO, will include Sales Director Raimo Vainionpää and Climate Action Director Virpi Reinikainen. Supporting the executive team as key operational personnel are Chief Financial Officer Kari Valta and Research Director PhD Ricardo Alvarado, among others.
Board of Directors
The nominees for the company’s board, supported by the majority of the current board and shareholders, include Member of Parliament Antti Kangas, who currently serves as Chairman of the Board, Aleksi Vilén, CEO of TMW Raahe Oy, as a current member, and new nominees: former Carboreal CEO Janne Saarikko, Piritta Rantanen, Member of Parliament, and Markus Hautala, an entrepreneur who has served as CEO of North-Piping Oy. The board elections will take place at the company's Annual General Meeting in October. The company will announce the results of its first financial year in the near future.
