The Nivala Cowboys U12 girls' hockey team, along with their parents, gathered with a common goal: To plant 2,000 tree seedlings in a field. The planting efforts went splendidly and the team also raised funds for the upcoming season’s expenses. The seedling planting was part of a larger reforestation project aimed at long-term carbon sequestration and promoting biodiversity. The team’s involvement in the planting efforts demonstrated that sustainable development and team spirit can be cultivated together.
Team spirit and working for nature
The Nivala Cowboys U12 girls’ hockey team, their parents and supporters created an energetic and communal atmosphere during the planting day. Each seedling planted contributes to a shared goal: Fighting climate change and strengthening the local environment.
It was a pleasure to see how smoothly the work went as players and guardians worked together, making quick progress. By the end of the day, every seedling was securely in the ground, a result that everyone involved can feel proud of.
The long-term benefits of reforestation
The positive impact of this planting project will reach far into the future. The new seedlings will grow into a carbon sink, absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and supporting the local ecosystem.
